PASTOR PHIL CARR

My Bio

Phil is the Assistant Church Planting Director. He is also serving as the Interim Pastor of Messiah Church in Southwest Detroit. He has served in ministry for over thirty five years in a variety of places and positions. He received his ministry and theological training from William Tyndale College in Farmington Hills, Michigan, and Trinity College in Deerfield, Illinois. Phil’s specialty is creating Christian education lessons and ministry training resources. He has created hundreds of learning and training guides on a multitude of topics. Phil also has a great passion for leadership development and church planting coaching. He has participated in training leaders locally, nationally and globally. Phil is married to Cynthia Carr, aka Sunshine.

Phil is married to Cynthia Carr, aka Sunshine.

Executive Pastor

Cynthia Carr grew up in church and recognized she had a ministry calling at an early age. She is affectionately known by some for being a praiser, preacher and prayer warrior. She is a licensed minister of the gospel. Cynthia started a mentoring ministry to young adult woman called Diamonds R Us. She also created a daily prayer line with more than 25 woman from all around the United States over two years ago. That ministry is still going strong today. Cynthia is a graduate of Michigan State University. She is a member of AKA (Alpha Kappa Alpha). She is married to Pastor Phil Carr and is a joyful mother of two sons and four bonus children. She is also the GeGe to several grand kids who are the joy of her life.
